My 1 week old daugther (born September 23, 1998) has been observed by eye-doctor that she might have inward deviation. The doctor said that normally new born baby having farsighted plus 3, while my daughter already has farsighted plus 6. What treatment and practice that preventing my daughter from any eye disoder ? And when I can start that treatment ? Thank you for your information and help.
Dear Budi,
One week is a littlebit young to diagnose strabismus. On the other hand, your eye-doctor
is correct in saying that the chance to get inward strabismus is higher in a child with
plus 6. We prescribe glasses from the age of six months in cases of severe hypermetropia,
especially when the child starts squinting.
Yours truly,
