Question

For the first few days after surgery I was seeing double, but that has subsided. I have tried looking at Magic Eye books and still can not see any of the images. I am howeve have not given up total hope. I am intrersted in therapy, if it is succesfull ever, and why my doctor doesn't seem to be intrerested. Is therapy a viable option, and is it often practiced. I feel as if there is very little information as to how difficult is it, how long it takes to get results, and the success rate. I am tempted to try it myself, but my knowledge is limited, and I don't want to make things worse. Is there some advise or dicection you could provide me, possibly references as to where to obtain direction, and is it worth while. I feel as if I have been thorugh surgury, with no depth percption results. but am not at a point of giving up yet.

Is there a realm of perceving vision in a diferent plane. If so I would like to experience this. If for no other reason, curiosity.

Just to eloborate on the previous question

I do an continue to wear glasses, and I am curious if my perscription will need to change soon. and for information purposes. Although I failed the fly test, and the random dot tests. The day after surgery I had the patch removed from my right eye, and when I walked out of the doctors office, the walls just seemed a little more there, and walking down the stairs scared me just a little becuase they looked different. Now, however two weeks later all seems pretty close to normal, with the exception that I get headaches but as time goes they seem to be less sever and frequent, and muscle tiredness, esp in the right eye is decreasing in pain and frequency as well. I hope this will all return to normal soon. Do you think that mabye someday, approx 3 weeks from now, when Im scheduled to see my eye doctor, again he will prescribe me a new set of glasses, that will fine tune everything and I will suddenly be able to precieve full depth perception and see the hidden images in the pictures of the magic eye books, or am I hopeless.

Answer:

Dear Paul,

Please do get obsessed with seeing depth. You have done all you could to increase the chance on depth perception, alas to no avail so far. It might still come, but chances are small and, believe me, there is nothing you can do further.
However, I am interested to know why your future employer insists on you having depth perception. You see, most people that see with one eye only, have no difficulties with most kinds of work.
