Question
i have had a 'lazy' left eye since the age of four, and have worn glasses for
the past twenty four years.
as far as i know, i am also far sighted. my eye doesn't turn unless my glasses have been
off for 1-2 hours, or unless i am tired. now, the question is.. with such a slight 'turn', is
there any type of surgical solution? i am tired of wearing glasses, and with the advent of
laser surgery for myopia etc, my curiosity has been roused!
thank you!

Answer:
Dear Kelly,
You get the same answer as Jackie Sadler: Apparently, you have plus glasses. You need
to wear the glasses because (1) focusing is connected to your eyes going inwards towards
the nose (= convergence) and hence the convergent squint is reduced by wearing the
glasses, and (2) as you get older, your abillity to focus will decrease, so that you will
soon need to wear the glasses all day. If, with the correct glasses, the squint is still larger
than 5 degrees, consult an ophthalmologist to have the squint angles measured and
possibly surgery done.
Yours truly,
