Question:
About: Strabismus in blind eye
I have been blind in my right eye since age 14 (I am now 46). Over this time, my
right eye has drifted to one side so that it no longer points in the same direction as my good
left eye. For cosmetic reasons I am planning to have surgery to correct this condition so that
the appearance of my blind eye is more natural as far as the direction it is pointing. Do you
think that the surgery will be any less effective because I have no sight in this eye ? In other
words could it degrade and return to it's current state more quickly than if I had vision in this
eye. Thank you for this information.

Answer:
Dear Peter,
Yes, my impression is also that the chance of a blind eye to drift outward again after surgery
is higher than for a seeing eye.
